Good moooorniiiiiiing!
I am officially at 145 this morning, and I have to explain what is happening here- or rather, what isn't happening.
I am not going to be posting my daily meals anymore.
Mostly because it's a pain in the butt to sit myself down every night and figure out what I ate, but also because it has been making me obssess over eating throughout the day and I think you guys already get the meal idea.
I have been cheating now and then on Phase 1, I probably am really in phase 2 now, but I am following a sort of strict phase 2.
Once you start introducing carbs, even ones that are good for you, into your diet, you lose weight a lot slower. Mostly because now your body has more fuel other than fat to burn.

If the jeans fit, your a loser.
Well, guess what?
I JUST fit into a size 10 pair of jeans down from size 13. I still have my belly skin from birth, but my hips and thighs fit into these things. How awesome?

Tuesday: 146 Pounds
See? It works. I ate according to my diet and I'm doing great. Yesterday all I ate were eggs, turkey bacon and then my special chili with beans, italian stewed tomatoes, and lowfat Cheese and ricotta. To drink I had diet pop and decaf coffee with artificial sweetener in the morning.

Monday: 149 Pounds after my Break
So, I haven't lost much being on my break but you know what?
I haven't gained anything either. :-)
This is a show that if you decide to eat outsde your diet, but make an effort to not SPLURGE indiscriminately, you can maintain your weight.

I'm baaaack!
Well, yes- I took a short vacation from my diet, but not completely.
A diet shouldn't be a ball and chains you're dragging around wherever you go, it should be a lifestyle change and parts of that include setting a goal on how much you want to lose, and how fast your willing to lose it.
Definately hold yourself accountable, but remember to take one step at a time.
One thing that is helping me out a lot is my mindframe, I pretend that this is the way I have always eaten. I have always been 125... I have always lived this lifestyle, and nothing is different. Thinking this way helps me break out of the habits that I want to drop.
My little vacation was due to the valentine's weekend where my husband and I went out to a nice restaurant and to a full week last week where dining out was a must. I still drank my diet colas. I still tried to make sure that if I was going to eat foods with a higher carb ratio than normal, it was going to be the healthiest and lowest carb menu item I was willing to eat.
I have been following my diet starting today.

Day 9: 149 and Plummeting!
We really need to go shopping and get more food. My husband commented on how he was considering just putting aside $100 for MY food alone, heh. The thing is, a lot of what I eat the kids can too, they just get other stuff with it.

Day 8: 149 Pounds, Baby!
I'm losing an essence of a POUND a day! WOW! I feel bad now I didn't take a before picture other than the one up above in the title.. but it's okay.
Now I'm dreaming of all the clothes I can finally wear when I'm thin again, but I think the thing that is bothering me is the post-natal factor. My two B's.
Boobs and Belly. (I have a nice butt, I admit)
My boobs are still huge since I am breastfeeding and I have a nice doughy lump of skin on my belly. I hope I haven't damaged the elasticity of my skin too much with my continual pregnancies.
Tummy tucks are NOT fun, people. They leave nasty scars that you avoided in the first place by fighting off the doctors with scapels outstretched saying C-sections were your only choice. BAH!
I didnt go through VAGINAL labor 5 times in 5 years to get one of those on my body.

Day 7: 150 Pounds- I'm a cheater.
Well, at least I didn't gain 5 pounds from my cheat last night, but that doesnt mean it's okay to do it.
I baked HOMEMADE wholewheat bread last night, with wholegrain cereal, nuts, and chopped dried fruit, OMG.... I just about died last night, I needed it so bad.
So, I had the heel.... with healthy butter, of course. Oh, yum. I resisted this morning, though. *pat pat pat*

Well, this morning I was up to 151 again. Still going great!
I need to keep my mind off food though, because I am having a really difficult time with my cravings. Especially when making those peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the kids.
I just need to...
keep on losing, keep on losing, keep on losing, losing, losing....

I have been enlightened...
All I can say is, "Wow."
I was given this book at a healthfood store a good week or two ago, and at first I though, "Nah, looks sort of boring.." but after reading his story, it hits you.
This man had the worst of life. He was literally dying, searching everywhere for health, something that would prevent him from wasting away from the most severe form of Crohn's Disease most anyone had EVER seen, trying over 500 different medications and herbal remedies, seeing doctors around the world. He tried anything and everything you can think of until he met one man.
This book talks about the foods that destroy us (follows very much along the south beach diet way) and the reasons we have problems which can be rooted from over processed foods and the fact we are all malnurished.
You gotta get this book!!!! I want to lend it out, but Im feeling a bit selfish at the moment, I love this thing...

Day 5: 150 Pounds- Im such a LOSER.
Wow, it's WORKING!
Last night was a rough night for me though.
For SOME reason I had heart palpitations, or PVC's (Premature Ventricular Contractions) that I haven't had since I was pregnant with Abigail almost 5 years ago.
It's a 'skip' in the beat, and a rush of adrenaline. It's like, you feel a slight build and then a gush in your heart rate.
"Ba-bump, ba-bump, ba-bump.... ba-ba-bump-bump, ba-ba-bump-bump, ba-bump, ba-bump..."
Wigged me out until I could finally go to sleep. This morning has been great, no PVC's.
Oops. Spoke too soon, there was one.
I'm going to try and make a doctor's appointment to get it checked out again. Last time they kind of shrugged it off and the only time it caused any concern was when I was pregnant in the maternity ward. I was being monitored and the palpitations showed up on the heart rate machine. You know, the one that goes "PING!".
My OB just about passed out, I was surprised by her reaction.
me: "Dont worry about it, they're only PVC's, and the other doctors said not to worry about them."
OB: "You mean... you've had this BEFORE?!"
me: "Well... that is probably what that means..."
After that, I switched to midwivery for my prenatal care.
Stupid doctors, heh. *grin*
But today we're going to go to the zoo and get some excersize! Yay! I LOVE the Palm Beach Zoo. It's so theraputic.

It is Murphy's Law...
...that when you go on a diet, your family won't care enough to NOT eat huge peices of chocolate cake in front of you.
My Husband brought home 1/2 an enormouse cake from work and I'm avoiding the kitchen altogether.
Maybe I'll freeze it for after my diet.... but then again... it will be sitting there... calling out my name from inside a lonely muffled freezer...
"Jyyyyynnnnn...... JYYYYNNNNNN......."
I actually managed to put the thing away on my own, frosting all over my fingers and ALL, without even taking one little snakey lick. I almost did- you know, the got-something-on-my-fingers-must-lick-it-off reflex, but I stopped myself, and pretended it was fatty LARD.
Wow, never knew I had it in me.

Day 3: 151 Pounds
Well, I just weighed myself and Im 151. Wow.
Again, also taking into consideration water. I've been drinking as much as I can bear, and now I have switched over to diet pop (blech!).
I have also been running around the past 2 days. Yesterday my son, Jacob, who is 5 months had a doc appt, and today my son Daniel who is 18 mos had his.
Im having the hardest time at night when I crave those carbs. Cross your fingers I can get past that. I think the fact Im showing signs of improvement helps me stay on track.
This Blog is a God Sent.

Weighed myself this morning. I have usually been 155, but I did a pre-diet starter, which was introducing myself to the habits I am going to be assuming, and I seem to be down a little.
We have to keep in mind water weight varies throughout the day and month.
MENU:
BREAKFAST: 3 over hard eggs, decaf coffee with 1/4cp skim milk and artificial sweetener
LUNCH: Low fat turkey wrapped around small slices of Romano tomatoe, salt & pepper, water and vitamins
DINNER: Lean ground chuck hamburger stir-fry with Broccoli, Onions, dill, oregano, salt and pepper. Ice Water. Traditional Medicinals Mother's Milk® Tea and vitamins.
This evening has been rough. I have been craving sweets, but I got through without cheating.

The First Day: Diary of a Loser
Well, today is my first day of this South Beach Diet. The diet consists of high protein, low fat low carb food items, and I am hoping I will be able to do this and feed my kids the normal stuff without slipping.
Phase-1 starts with NO fruits or dairy other than some skim milk and lowfat/no fat cheese, no pastas or breads, lots of proteins for 2 weeks. They claim a 13 pound weight loss, lets just see.
